It is an early XX century building, made of solid brick walls on top of a granite base, the gabled roof cover is made of wood, with a skylight in the middle that allows the light to come through to the central staircase. The façade shows a row of iron balconies and a stone windowsill.
It is believed that it was made by Julio del Campo, stone forger and builder, married in Sahagun to Antolina Luna and a frequent visitor of the area. He was also his uncle´s apprentice, who was a sculptor, restorer and funeral services entrepreneur in Sahagún and who was also his master and taught Julio all he learned about the profession. There is no documentation to prove this but there are certainly testimonies to support it.
From the building the most important element is its spectacular iron staircase with wooden banister.
The house has had several uses throughout its time, such as a vet´s surgery, furniture warehouse, supermarket, etc.
At present it is a rural house lived in by a family who manages the maintenance and restoration. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 of them with en-suite bathrooms. In addition there is a reading room, a big hall and a small patio.
